	<title>Credit Card</title>
	<description>
What is currently on your wish list? Do you want too many things to jaunt down? Well, one thing that can bring you closer to realizing your goal of purchasing all the materialistic fodder on the horizon is to apply for a credit card. Of course, a credit card is not something to be abused or used on impulse.

Savvy Consumers Make For Good Card Holders
You'll want to make those purchases with discretion. As in so many things in life, the key to success is in moderation. Treat your credit card in this respect as well. Do not let old man greed get you. If you give in to your impulsive or compulsive spending habits, what will happen is that you'll end up consistently stuck at your credit limits. You'll want to avoid this as it's not very fun. You'll have run up to your limit and what good is the credit card then? All you can do with it is pay it monthly and the interest will be higher and you'll be more prone to go over the limit and get charged nuisance fees.

Unfortunately, not all of us are given these types of instructions when we receive our first credit cards. There is no rule book, per se to guide you. That's why we're here. To help you become more aware and prepared for your first foray into the world of credit cards.

You can have all those neat new electronic gadgets or must-have Spring fashions if you are able to use your credit card wisely. Earn your purchases. Pay them off timely. A credit card has consequences- such as direct effect on your credit. A credit card for students will look out for your credit and won't allow you to get into credit card debt.

Start with a student credit card. For the most part, these types of credit cards don't allow for tallying up too much debt as the credit limits are generally never more than a few thousand dollars. From here, you'll work your way up. By establishing mature spending and payment patterns from the get-go, you'll be sure to earn your way up the credit card-tiered world.

Rule of Thumb
Be prepared to be deliberate and conscientious in your spending and paying, and think about this when you consider any credit card offer. Always at least double the minimum payment to avoid inflated interest charges. Never let yourself hang out at your credit limits. It's too easy to get trapped there, especially if you are a college kid who has a limited income. Don't think the numbers are abstract. They are very real and you will be responsible for repaying every cent and more some day.
