If you're giving the gift to someone more practical, that person might use it to: Buy gas Buy groceries Get an oil change Buy shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, deodorant, toothpaste, etc. Just think of all the places Visa is accepted and you'll understand why giving someone a Visa gift card is like giving someone the world. And it makes your life easier too. If you're too busy to shop (or just don't want to fight the crowds) remember that Visa gift cards are available at banks and online.
