Benefits of an American Express Card
In the past, American Express cards required you to pay your balance off in full each month. This is good if you're disciplined enough to do that, but if not, it could cause your credit rating to go south. A lot of people stayed away from these cards because of this in the past. But now you can get an American Express card that allows you to pay over time, just like MasterCards or Visas you get from banks.
American Express has even jumped on the rates bandwagon, offering introductory rates of 0% for 15 months, no annual fee and even fee-free rewards programs. Some of the rewards offered to American Express card holders include:
- Travel - This includes airfare, hotels, vacation packages, cruises, car rental...even train travel!
- Entertainment - This includes restaurants, concerts, movies and theatre
- Shopping - This includes almost anything you can buy--even spa treatments!
These are some of the benefits you get to enjoy when you are the proud owner of an American Express card. So what's stopping you from applying? Is it because you're a student? Well, stop worrying! There's an American Express card made specifically for students too. It offers a low APR and no annual fee. It also allows you to pay over time. (However, we still recommend that you pay your balance in full each month to avoid overwhelming credit card debt later.
